Education Reporter

Times-Union Media is looking for an education, children and families reporter to join its newsroom staff.  

This position covers breaking news, trends, issues and analysis stories about schools, child welfare agencies, churches and initiatives in Northeast Florida focused on helping children and families. This reporter will be involved with our multi-year Hope Project, which examines how the community raises and educates children. Some of the reporting will be in the classroom and School Board chambers, but much will also be in houses, churches and on the streets. College degree preferred with three or more years of journalism experience.  Multi-media experience preferred. Strong writing and reporting skills required. Must have excellent conflict resolution skills. Must be able to work in a team environment and adapt quickly to tight deadlines. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
