EdSurge Audience Growth (Contract Position)
EdSurge is looking for an audience growth professional to deepen our community engagement and expand our audience. In this contract position, you will create feedback loops with our community and distill insights to advise strategies across content, distribution, and mechanisms of engagement. We are looking for someone passionate about both education and fostering community. In order to drive audience building and engagement, you will do the following:
- Audience building: Know how to effectively distribute journalism materials to various readership groups, including, for example, classroom educators, and build loyal audiences among key demographics. Create actionable feedback loops through surveys and other mechanisms.
- Brand engagement: EdSurge connects with its audience through newsletters, social media, podcasts, webinars and more. Help foster strong engagement through multiple channels and media. Advise on social, paid, and new media strategy and execute the engagement portion of that strategy.
- Supports the journalism lifecycle: Has strong news judgment and social copywriting skills. Understands the reporting and storytelling work of the journalism team and translates that for audiences across platforms. Keeps an eye out for trends and story ideas via social media and other audience engagement feedback mechanisms to share back with the journalism team.
The number of hours and duration of contract are negotiable, ideally a year-long contract at 15-20 or hours per week. Scope could be expanded to include analytics, should interests and skills align.
