Digital PR Coordinator
What We’re Looking For:
The 2U Inbound Marketing team is seeking an education expert with marketing experience for the position of digital PR coordinator. In this role, you will build relationships with education thought leaders and organizations in order to create and distribute meaningful education-related content on behalf of our university partners. You’ll work closely with the content manager to pitch content to publications and influencers in the education space. You’ll work alongside university faculty experts and thought leaders to directly support the organic growth of our education partner programs through placements. The ideal candidate has a robust working knowledge of digital relationship building and PR, as well as expertise in K-12 and teacher education.
Exceptional organization, communication and writing skills are required. This position requires you to use both email and social media strategies to establish strategic, long-term relationships with publications, thought leaders and education influencers that drive our organic marketing efforts and secure high-quality placements for our partner programs.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Conduct outreach and link-building initiatives around program blog content, events and marketing campaigns to improve SERP (Search Engine Results Page) visibility and increase organic growth and prospects
Obtain placements on digital publications through email outreach and content partnerships
Translate big education reform ideas into concepts that are digestible by both the general population and specific blog audiences
Building upon an existing understanding of and passion for the education vertical by identifying and developing relationships with influencers and building a profile as an influencer yourself
Identifying industry trends and tools to support marketing campaigns and objectives
Work directly with third-party bloggers, journalists and publishers to leverage school-branded content
Managing interns and third-party vendors/agencies as needed
Things That Should Be in Your Background:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Strong understanding of and/or background in K-12 education and higher education
2-4 years of proven experience in social media/community management, education program development, public relationships and/or content marketing
Strong marketing and/or business development skills
Outstanding written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to prospective students, education advocates and corporate executives
Digital literacy skills required; Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr). Familiarity with digital media tools (JIRA, CMS, Buzzstream, Moz, Google Analytics) is a plus
