Comments from the Judges

“Major tip of the hat to this journalist for going above and beyond the routine budget cut story, and showing local readers in moving detail how a school district’s financial negligence adversely affected the everyday life of one of its students.”

“This photo essay does an outstanding job of narrowing the lens and helping us understand the human impact of these financial debates.”
