Sara Hebel

Sara Hebel is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Open Campus, a nonprofit news organization that partners with local newsrooms to improve coverage of college for communities. She manages newsroom partnerships, local network growth, and enterprise work.

Previously, Sara spent two decades as a newsroom leader and higher-education journalist at The Chronicle of Higher Education, where she coached editors and reporters, set coverage agendas, and steered award-winning stories.
