My newspaper is working on a series of stories about the effects of poverty in our community. Along with a general state of poverty story I’ve been assigned to write on its effects on education and vice-versa.
To give some backdrop, we are located in a city with about 75 percent of its students eligible for free and reduced lunch. On the flip side only something like 12 percent of its 22 and over population have attained any higher education.
Can anyone direct me to some quality stories that’s been written on poverty and education? And lead me to any resources on reporting on poverty?
