Advice for school pr people
If you had a chance to give school media relations coordinators advice on how to deal with the press, what would it be?
I am putting together a presentation and website geared towards educating schools on how to send press releases, submit photos, etc. The idea came after noticing some school districts were much more equipped than others to deal with the press.
It also is inspired by frustration that I tend to feel when a school calls, pitches a great project that would make for a good story and a great assignment for our photographers, just to hear they did it a few weeks ago and just now thought to let us know.
If you would offer any advice, what would it be? Like if you had five top tips, what would they be?
Thanks in advance.
