Follow-Up Friday: EWA Heads to Dallas, New Voice for Latino Ed Beat

EWA is in Dallas today and tomorrow for our annual Higher Education Seminar. This year’s theme: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Covering the College Student Experience.  Reporters from across the country are gathering at Southern Methodist University, where they’ll have a chance to dig deeper into the hottest topics on the higher education beat. Among them: Community college readiness; accessing and using student data; the impact of mentoring on student success; institutional ratings and rankings; and campus sexual assault.

You can keep track of the sessions via Twitter using the hashtag #EWAHiEd, and by following my EWA colleagues who are in Dallas: Lori Crouch, Caroline Hendrie, Kenneth Terrell, and Mikhail Zinshteyn

In the meantime, if you’re looking for background, story ideas and sources on the higher educate beat, be sure to check out our Topics pages. We’ve got you covered on everything from College Access & Admissions to Title IX.

EWA is delighted to welcome Natalie Gross as the new voice of Latino Ed Beat. She’ll be blogging regularly about Latino education issues, and joins us after stints covering K-12 issues in the Southwest. You can also follow Natalie on Twitter.
