EWA is Changing to an Open Community - Learn about Membership & Benefits

The Education Writers Association is the professional community of education reporters and writers and others interested in education and writing about education. We support the ongoing professional development of journalists as part of our mission to help improve the quality of education reporting in the United States. EWA provides members with a valuable network of colleagues and resources so they can cover current issues and be on top of emerging trends. We will soon be adding new online training and other new media services.

See what others have to say about EWA!

We are in transition from a paid membership organization to an open community. We are no longer billing for membership and do not require you to pay for inclusion in the network.  We will maintain benefits of membership for those who have paid for membership (lower costs at the annual meeting, contest, mailing lists) until the end of their membership period.

If you are new to EWA, we invite you to register with us on the Join EWA page (click Join EWA on the left). This is all you need to do to join the community.

If you are a current paid member, you will continue to get lower fees in the EWA contest, at the EWA annual meeting, for exhibit tables and for purchase of the mailing list until your membership expiration date.

If your membership is expiring or has expired and you want to continue as a member, we want you to update your contact and background information.  Please go here  to review and update your current record.  Please do not fill out the survey form for new members as that will create a duplicate record.

If you have questions, please contact Tracee Eason (teason at ewa dot org)

Make a contribution?

EWA is not charging for membership, but we are putting in place a "public radio" form of membership and registration.  We'll expand on this in coming days but for now, go here to contribute to EWA's future.   Funds will be used to build the EWA scholarship fund for reporters and writers and to help EWA develop its online programming.

Who we are

Categories and services are in transition, but here is information on current members.
