Message from EWA's Director

We had a captivating conversation recently with memberscaroline hendrie of the Los Angeles Times team that produced "Grading the Teachers," a groundbreaking project that used "value-added" analysis to rank teachers based on their students' test scores. If you weren’t among the nearly 50 reporters on the call, don’t worry: We recorded it. While you listen to the probing questions asked by your peers, here’s one you won’t be asking: Does education journalism make a difference? Love or hate it, the Times' high-impact project shows just how vital reporters are to the public discourse on making schools better. So take a few minutes to go behind the scenes with the journalists who made it happen.

Hope we get a chance to talk again soon!
Caroline Hendrie
