EWA follows Fellows for 2010 Research and Statistics Boot Camp

Washington, D.C., December 2, 2010 -- The National Education Writers Association (EWA) held its seventh research and statistics training program for 20 journalists from newsrooms around the country.

EWA’s program, held in conjunction with Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism and funded by the Spencer Foundation, helped education reporters learn how to analyze data and question research. Respected news veterans and college professors guided fellows on the strengths and weaknesses of data-based reporting and how to gauge good research from bad. Fellows left the boot camp with the beginnings of a story. The fellows will publish stories over the next few months.
