The poll samples critically important target audiences - teachers, administrators, and parents among the general public. Among its findings:

  • It reveals conflicting opinions and hidden misconceptions contributing to serious disconnection between early identification and appropriate intervention.
  • It highlights implications for the growing achievement gap in American education and how education policy may be applied to support learning for all America's children.
  • It outlines how this study can help to shape education practice and policy as it relates to:
    Early diagnosis
    Response to Intervention (RTI)
    Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) reauthorization
