Education Reporter for Florida Today

The Education Reporter will cover Brevard Public Schools and education issues facing Brevard County, Florida and the nation. The successful candidate will be able to produce sophisticated enterprise and watchdog journalism while managing a busy beat. Investigative experience, database work and strong reporting skills are important. In addition to writing about school district initiatives, finance and policy, will also look for stories from inside the classrooms.
Qualified candidates will demonstrate a high level of sophistication in researching stories, including using databases and the Internet. Must have a 4-year college degree and at least five years of reporting/writing experience, preferably including education reporting. Must have an interest in working across all platforms for duties that could include managing an online blog and participating in video reports.
