Georgia colleges prepare for more cuts
Georgia’s colleges will furlough employees, cut jobs and eliminate classes under plans to slash budgets because of a revenue shortfall. The state’s 35 public colleges and universities submitted plans to the University System of Georgia outlining what would be cut if budgets have to be reduced by 4 percent, 6 percent or 8 percent. Laura Diamond, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, August 11, 2009
