In and out of preschool
The frequent moves kept [5 year-old] Kymarria out of preschool for the most part, although she was enrolled for a time in a Head Start in Indiana and a home-based child care center that serves homeless children . . . More than 4,000 children under the age of 5 at some point lived in a Chicago shelter during 2007, according to the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless.
