Child Left Behind

In the short span of her tender 10 years, Adriana Long has managed to serve as poster child for more than her share of causes. Virginia's Board of Education is considering a major overhaul of its special education regulations that may fundamentally alter the rights of parents like Anna Long, Adriana's mother. If adopted, the new rules allow localities to, at the extreme, remove all special education services from a child without parental consent.
