The University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education (GSE) seeks a highly-motivated and creative public relations expert to join its communications team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years publicity experience and/or similar background in journalism, with a proven track record of developing strong media relationships and securing coverage. The candidate must be a team player and strategic thinker, with the ability to proactively identify communications opportunities and develop supporting programs. It is essential that the candidate possess superior writing skills and a knack for making complicated ideas and materials easily understood and compelling. A Bachelor's Degree is required and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 7 plus years experience preferred.
- Superior writing skills; knowledge of AP style preferred
- Ability to create and execute project-specific publicity plans
- Strong organizational skills
- Strategic thinking
- Ability to build and maintain relationships internally and externally
- Knowledge of, and interest in, education or academia a plus
- Sense of humor greatly appreciated
