Scott Montgomery
ACT

Scott Montgomery is the vice president for policy, advocacy and government relations at ACT. In this capacity, he leads the team that works with state and federal lawmakers, national organizations, and industry leaders seeking opportunities to build partnerships and alliances, develop policy recommendations, and address reforms that support college and career readiness for all individuals. Prior to joining ACT, Montgomery served as deputy executive director at the Council of Chief State School Officers, where he directed the offices of member services, policy/advocacy, and communications and provided leadership for CCSSO’s Common Core State Standards Initiative. In his 11 years at CCSSO, Montgomery was associated with some of the council’s largest initiatives, including SchoolMatters.org and the State Action for Education Leadership Project (SAELP). He is a native Arizonan and proud alumnus of Arizona State University.
