The Dallas Morning News has an opening for an experienced Education Reporter with strong reporting and storytelling skills. The ideal candidate will be a proven digital journalist with demonstrated ability in sophisticated watchdog, spot news and enterprise reporting. The successful candidate will produce diverse stories on education trends and issues of deep interest to parents, teachers and taxpayers.

A keen knowledge of database reporting is essential as is extensive
experience in developing creative content across multiple platforms. A track record of deep source development is a must.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field
  • Experience: Five years of reporting experience, with at least two years covering a large urban district, are preferred.
  • Skills: Strong writing and reporting, blogging, social media, basic analytics, multimedia storytelling, basic Excel, photo and video, basic graphics.
