All media are welcome to participate in the contest. So whether your work appeared in print or online, on TV or the radio, or all of the above, we’re eager to recognize excellence on the education beat.
Each first-prize recipient receives a $200 award and is in the running for the Fred M. Hechinger Grand Prize for Distinguished Education Reporting, which comes with a $1,500 award. All winners, including those receiving a second and special citation prize, will be honored during a banquet at EWA’s National Seminar at Vanderbilt University, May 18-20, 2014.
EWA – the only professional organization for members of the news media who specialize in education – has been honoring distinguished journalism since the 1960s, furthering the association’s mission of increasing the quantity and quality of education coverage to create a better-informed public.
